Islami Bank holds view exchange meeting with Ulemas to promote Bangla QR

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC organized a discussion meeting with prominent Islamic scholars at a local hotel in the capital on Saturday, August 8, 2026, to increase the use of Bangla QR in religious institutions towards building a Cashless Bangladesh. Mufti Mohammad Mohibbullahil Baqee, Director General of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh addressed the program as chief guest. Mohammad Zahir Hussain, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and the sole representative of the board of directors of Islami Bank addressed as special guest. Md. Altaf Hossain, Managing Director (Acting) presided over the program while Mufti Shamsuddin Zia, Chairman, Shari'ah Supervisory Committee of the Bank, Shah Muhammad Waliullah, member of Bangladesh Bank Shari'ah Supervisory Board and Mohammad Zakir Hossain, Additional Director, Islami Banking Regulations and Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank also addressed the program. Engr. Mohammed Jamal Uddin Mazumder, Additional Managing Director of the bank presented the keynote paper on Bangla QR. Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim, Additional Managing Director delivered the welcome speech. Members of the Shari'ah Supervisory Committee and Senior Executives of the Bank also attended the program.
