Mr. Bashir Ahamed is the Head of Retail Investment Wing of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC having more than 30 years of Banking experience. Before this position, he was the Head of SME Investment Division-I of the Bank and looked after SME funding and management of Non Performing Investment.  He was born in 1966 at Gazipur District in a respectable Muslim family.

Mr. Ahamed started his Banking career in IBBPLC on 25^th June of 1995 as Probationary Officer after a brief stint with teaching profession as Lecturer in Hatia Digree College, Shakhipur, Tangail. His profession trajectory includes almost all arena of Banking including General Banking, Investment and Foreign Exchange business of the Bank. His noteworthy positions include completion of Managerial works in 8 Branches (Ramna Corporate Branch, New Market Branch, Dhanmondi Branch, Moghbazar Branch, Mymensingh Branch, Mawna Chowrasta Branch, Uttara Branch and Madhupur Branch of IBBPLC along-with successfully leading 03 Zones (Bogura Zone, Dhaka North Zone and Mymensingh Zone) of the Bank.

Mr. Ahamed completed M.Sc. in applied Mathematics from the University of Dhaka. He also completed M.B.A in Finance from Darul Ihsan University, Dhaka. He is a Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (DAIBB) and he also completed Diploma in Islamic Banking (DIB) from the Islami Bank Training & Research Academy (IBTRA).

He participated in various training courses, seminars, conferences, workshops in home and abroad on various issues and travelled Bahrain, KSA, Indonesia, Malaysia and India.
