With more than 32 years experience of Islamic Banking and Finance, Mr. Md. Habibur Rahman currently serves as the Head of Board & Company Affairs Wing at Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC (IBBPLC). Beginning his career in 1993 as a Probationary Officer with IBBPLC, he served in different Portfolio of Foreign Exchange, Investment, General Banking, SME and Islamic Micro Finance.

He served in various departments and divisions of the Bank including Head of Branches, Head of Zone, Head of Divisions including SME Investment Division-II, Head of Rural Development Division, Head of Compliance Division under IC&CW, Head of Training & Motivation Dept., Faculty of Training & Research Academy and Head of Retail Investment Wing-II.

He has played instrumental role to promote Islamic Micro Finance & Agriculture investment through inclusive financial services, non financial welfare activities under Rural Development Scheme of IBBPLC. Through these roles, he made his marks for developing new entrepreneurs especially women entrepreneurs. He has also exposures in the field of Human Resources Management by talent acquisition and employees training & motivational programs.

Mr. Habib obtained his Master’s in Economics from University of Dhaka, LLM from Dhaka International University, EMBA in Finance from United International University, Dhaka. He is a Diplomaed Associate of Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (DAIBB) & completed Diploma in Islamic Banking (DIB) successfully. He also obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) degree from United International University. He participated in various training courses, seminars, conferences, workshops at home and abroad on various issues and travelled Thailand, India, China, Kingdom of Soudi Arabia, Singapore and Malaysia.

He is co-editor of various books related to Bank’s such as “Islamic Financial System & Selected Islamic Economic Issues”, ”ইসলামী ব্যাংকে শরীয়াহ প্রয়োগ, পদ্ধতি ও পরিপালন” এবং ”ব্যাংকার্স এসিআর এক্সরে” ।
