Mahmudur Rahman, CDCS, is a distinguished Islamic banker with over 29 years of extensive experience ininternational trade, banking operations, management, and administration. His broad expertise encompasses trade and credit finance, product development, operational research, NPI management, branch expansion and other allied areas.

Mr. Rahman commenced his career at IBBPLC in 1995 as a Probationary Officer. Currently, he heads the Dhaka Central Zone, the largest zone of IBBPLC. Prior to this, he held different positions in branch and head office roles, including Head of the International Trade Wing, Head of Noakhali Zone, Head of the Foreign Trade Operations Division, Head of the Foreign Trade Processing Division, and Branch Manager at Farmgate. He played leading role in establishing the largest Centralized Trade Processing Hub in the country at IBBPLC.

Mahmudur Rahman completed his post-graduation in Political Science from the University of Dhaka and earned an MBA in Finance and Banking from the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC). He is a Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (DAIBB) and he also completed Diploma in Islamic Banking (DIB) from the Islami Bank Training & Research Academy (IBTRA). Additionally, he is a graduate of the inaugural batch of the “Finance of International Trade (FIT)” program and earned the “Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS)” designation from the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF) in 2010.

Mr. Rahman has specialized expertise in International Trade and RMG finance. He has made significant contributions to advancing trade learning and expertise within IBBPLC and the broader banking industry in Bangladesh. He works as a facilitator of trade-related capacity-building programs at BIBM, BBTA, IBTRA, ICC events and other platforms. He has attended many training sessions and workshops both at home and abroad.

He has visited many countries, including France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, KSA, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, the UAE, and the UK to attend various conferences, seminars, training sessions, and business development programs.In addition to his professional endeavors, Mahmudur Rahman is also involved in various social and professional organizations.
