Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim, the Additional Managing Director & Chief Human Resources Officer of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.,a visionary Banker as well as dynamic leader is also serving as the Head of Human Resources Wing and Special Investment Wing-II of the Bank. He is also the Risk Based Supervision (RBS) Focal Point and a member of the Management Committee of the Bank.

Prior to this, he played pivotal roles in different positions at Branch and Head Office including Head of Operations Wing& Development Wing, CAMLCO and also Head of Branches Control Division, Business Promotion & Marketing Division, Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing Prevention Division and Dhaka East Zone and Head of HO Complex Corporate Branch, Farmgate Branch&Dhanmondi Branch. He also served in Islami Bank Training & Research Academy (IBTRA) as Faculty Member, Tongi Branch as Manager Operations, Foreign Exchange Branch, Brand & Communication Division, SME Investment Division and General Investment Division. He played a vital role for development of GB Manual, Procurement Policy and Diploma in Islamic Banking Policy of the Bank.

As a senior banker with more than 33 years experience,  Dr.Jasim has vast and exclusive exposures in the field of Credit Management, specially NPI reduction, appraising and administering large industrial projects, trade finance, Product Development, Popularization of Digital Banking Products, Customer Service, Financial Literacy, Operational Research, Business Expansion, Sustainability, Financial inclusion and many allied areas. He has vast contribution for the advancement as well as betterment of the Bank.

He completed graduation & post-graduation in Mass Communication & Journalism from the University of Dhaka and PhD in Economics from Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS), University of Rajshahi. He has been awarded with scholarships from primary level to PhD with double stand (SSC & HSC). In addition to MBA in Human Resources management, he has completed Banking Diploma named AIBB from Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (IBB) and DIB from IBTRA. He also completed degree on HRM from the University of Cambridge, UK and accomplished a special course on Leadership and Change Management from IBA, Dhaka University.

Mr. Kamal wrote three books, 1^st one ‘ব্যাংকারের পাথেয়’ published in 1996 and the latest one র্সবজনীন ব্যাংকিং এবঙ’ in 2023 and ‘Inclusive Banking’ will be published soon. He presented more than 20 papers in national and international conferences/seminars. His paper was selected for the conference on the Islamic Finance at Harvard University, USA. He presented several papers at Annual Banking Conference (ABC) of BIBM. In 2017, his paper was selected as the Best Paper and awarded by ABC. He won 1^st place many a times in executive group in essay competition of the Bank. As a resource person he has conducted training sessions in various reputed institutes including Dhaka University, AIUB, BIBM, BBTA, EC, BSTD, IBTRA, IDLC, City Bank, AIBL, SJIBL, SBAC Bank, Rapport Bangladesh etc. He also contributed as the consultant of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh.

In 2006, as the representative of IBBPLC he participated at the SME conference in Malaysia, he delivered a motivational speech on ‘Universality of Islamic Banking’ by which among others the representatives of Bank of Ceylon (BoC) have greatly inspired to establish Islamic Banking in BoC. After that, the senior executives of BoC took direct training from the experts of IBBPLC twice in 2007-2008 and thus established islamic banking in BoC, the largest state-owned bank in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Kamal was born on 1^st March 1968 in Hizla of Barishal and joined Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC on 11^th April 1992 as Probationary Officer. During his banking career, he gathered vast banking experience in almost all arena of banking. He has been awarded as the best Manager and received the highest amount of Cash Award for the best performance in reduction of overdue & classified investment upto zero position in 15 years older Dhanmondi Branch which is unprecedented in Bangladesh as opined by the senior bankers. He initiated Alternate Delivery Channel (ADC) popularization program from Dhanmondi Branch in 2008 and issued highest number of ATM Card at Farmgate Branch which has got tremendous pace all over the country by his spontaneous & strategic drive when he was elevated to the Head of Business Promotion & Marketing Division at Head Office.

He is Life Member of Association of Bankers' Bangladesh (ABB), DU Alumni Association and the Treasurer of DUAA, BSHRM, Surja Sen Hall Alumni Association, RU-IBS Alumni Association, AIM-University of Cambridge, UK. He is also the elected Vice President of DU Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association, Executive Committee Member and Editor of BSTD Journal Proshikhyan, Member of Bangladesh Asiatic Society and Bangladesh Economic Association etc.

He participated more than 120 National and International Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and Training Programs in Bangladesh and in UK, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Turkey, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, KSA, Oman, UAE, Brunei, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Myanmar etc.
