Md. Mahboob Alam, Deputy Managing Director, has been entrusted the responsibility of the Development Wing of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.

Md. Mahboob Alam has undergone a long banking career in multi-dimensional capacities since his joining to IBBL as Probationary Officer on 09 April 1992. Reputed as an Islamic Microfinance banker, he served in various key positions in the Bank which includes ‘Head of Human Resources Division’, ‘Head of Rural Development Division’, ‘Head of Agent Banking  Division’, ‘Head of Retail Investment Wing-II’,‘Head of Retail Investment Wing-I’. He was the Head of Mouchak Branch too.

Mr. Alam played the pioneering role at the formal launching of IBBL Agent Banking operations countrywide. Under his dynamic leadership, all agent banking outlets have become the effective financial inclusion center specially in the rural and remote areas of the country.

Mr. Alam obtained his Masters of Social Science (MSS) in Social Welfare from the University of Dhaka.

Mr. Alam attended various professional training programs, conferences, seminars, symposiums at home and abroad. He visited different countries viz. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United States of America, Australia, Malaysia, India. Oman.
