Mohammad Khurshid Wahab is the Independent Director and the Chairman of the Executive Committee & Member of the Risk Management Committee of the Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.

Mr. Wahab was born in a respected muslim family in 1963. He completed M. A. in Mass Communication and Journalism from University of Dhaka. He is a prominent retired Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank. He started his career as banker at Janata Bank in 1988. He served with reputation under different key positions which includes Assistant Director, Deputy Director, Joint Director, Deputy General Manager, General Manager of Foreign Exchange Policy Department and Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank. He is a Diploma Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (DAIBB) (Part-I).

During his long professional life, Mr. Wahab gathered huge experience focusing the following concentration area like Bangladesh Bank’s Agricultural Credit Department, Audit and Inspection Department, Bank Inspection Department, Department of Offsite Supervision, Banking Regulation and Policy Department, Foreign Exchange Investment Department, Foreign Exchange Policy Department, Foreign Exchange Operation Department, Currency Officer and various departments of Bogra and Rajshahi Offices.

He participated various training programs among them most prominent are: Two days program on “Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation” held in Moscow, Russia; Two days conference on “Directors of Payment and Settlement System of Asia-pacific Central Banks” held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia organized by The SEACEN Centre; A training program on “PPP Structuring Legal Agreements and Concession Contracts (P-102)” organized by the “Investment Promotion and Financing Facility II (IPFF-II)” project, Bangladesh Bank in USA; and the program on “Bangladesh-Canada Business Forum 2019” and “13” Edition of the Toronto Global Forum in Toronto, Canada.

Mr. Wahab travelled so many countries like USA, Russia, Canada, Switzerland, India, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and The Philippines.
