Performance Review Meeting

The total deposit of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited has reached at Tk.23,434.30 crore as on 30 September 2009; showing the growth rate of 22% against the same period of the last year. The total investment reaches Tk.21,970.50 crore. The Bank handled foreign exchange business amounting to Tk.33,121.70 crore including import of Tk. 11,185.40crore, export of Tk. 7,847.90 crore and remittance of Tk. 14,088.40 crore.

The information was disclosed in a Performance Review Meeting at the Board Room of Islami Bank Tower on Saturday, October 03, 2009. Prof. Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, Chairman, Board of Directors of the Bank was present in the function as the Chief Guest. Engr. Mustafa Anwar, Vice Chairman, Board of Directors and Md. Shahidul Islam, Chairman, Audit Committee of the Bank attended various working sessions the inaugural ceremony as the chief guests.

Presided over by M. Fariduddin Ahmad, Managing Director of the Bank, the meeting was attended among others by the Deputy Managing Directors Mohd. Shamsul Haque, Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Md. Habibur Rahman, Md. Setaur Rahman, top executives of Head office and Zonal Heads of the Bank.

Prof. Abu Nasser Mohammad Abduz Zaher in his speech as the Chief Guest said, IBBL as the largest private commercial bank of the country, has to face the challenge of global financial recession with courage and take active step in preventing the crisis which has been created in the field of banking and economy. In this context, all the employees of the Bank has to work unitedly being enlightened with the ideal of the Bank. The employees have to work by emplementing well planned programs for the survival, sustainance and growth of the Bank. He said, people has been aware now about the finncial imperialism and expansionism in the perspective of global recession.

Mentioning the huge possibilities of investment in the country he said, the managers and workers of the Bank have to be acquainted with the latest information of International trade and commerce and guide the clients accordingly. He called upon ensuring flow of life in the economy of the country through quick investment with professionalism and competitiveness avoiding emotion. Emphasising upon use of modern technology he said, from now all the new branches should be inaugurated with well equipped modern facilities.

He called upon the workers of the Bank to expand the srvice of Islami Banking all over the country by establishing good relation with all section of people. He thanked the present Government for introducing and opening Islamic Banking windows and Branches of Government Banks.

Emphasising on Rural Development Scheme, he said, by this scheme we have to take the facilities of reaching Islamic Banking service among the poor people and farmers of the rural area.

Engr. Mustafa Anwar, Vice Chairman of the Bank in his speech said, the Bank has been proceeding with its team who are enlightened with the ideal of the Bank. The main characteristic of this Bank is interactive and transparent in its action programs. He called upon diversification of investment and mentioned the importance of Rural Development Scheme and S.M.E. in development of the coutry.

Md. Shahidul Islam, Chairman of Audit Committee of the Bank in his speech said, IBBL is the bank of all irrespective of religion, cast and color. We all have to work restlessly to reach the service of this Bank to the doorstep of every people of the country.

M. Fariduddin Ahmad in his Presidential speech said, the main energy of Islami Bank is the faith of the people of the country. We have to work keeping respect upon this faith of the people. He said, we have to come out of bad investment by pointing out them and ensure good investment. We have to work carefully for good investment. He said, we have to work more carefully to face the global financial recession and take the country ahead.
