The 20th S.M.E. Service Centre of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited was inaugurated on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Sonargaon of Narayanganj. Engr. Md. Eskander Ali Khan Chairman, Executive Committee of the Bank inaugurated the S.M.E. Service Center as the Chief Guest. Presided over by M. Fariduddin Ahmad, Managing Director of the Bank the function was attended by Mr. Robert Smith, Manager of RPCF, DFID, Md. Mosharaf Hossain, Chairman and Kohinur Islam Ruma, Vice Chairman of Sonargaon Upazila Parishad as Special Guests. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Deputy Managing Director & Head of Investment Wing of the Bank addressed the welcome speech. The function was addressed by Md. Najibur Rahman, Head of Dhaka South Zone of the Bank. Hazi Abu Bakar and Hazi Asad Prodhan anddressed the function from among the clients and well wishers.

Engr. Md. Eskander Ali Khan in his speech as Chief Guest said, IBBL is working for the betterment of the people of this country. IBBL is now considered as the number one Bank in home and abroad for the love of the people of this country. Our motto is to do welfare of the poor and middle class people. He said Islami Bank is the Bank of all irrespective of party and opinion. He stressed on acquiring more skillness and to give people clear idea about Islamic Banking.

M. Fariduddin Ahmad in his Presidential speech said, Islamic Banks have not faced any problem amid the global recession which prove the welfare oriented system of Islamic Banking. He said, investment in industrial sector, accommodation of job for the jobless people and development of information and technology is needed for standing Bangladesh in the line of the developed countries. For this reason IBBL has been extending investment with modern banking services.

Mr. Robert Smith in his speech mentioned IBBL as the leading and top Bank of the country and told that the Bank has been earning 25% of the total remittance of the country. He also said that, IBBL inspires Small and Medium investments which is positive for the overall development of the country while the other Banks eyes towards large scale investment. He called upon all to take the service of IBBL.
