Performance Review meeting upto April 2009 of IBBL

A day-long Performance Review meeting upto April 2009 of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited was held on 16 May 2009, Saturday at the Amin Khan Memorial Hall of BIAM Foundation. Prof. Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, Chairman, Board of Directors of the Bank was present in the meeting as the Chief Guest, while Engr. Md. Eskander Ali Khan, Chairman, Executive Committee of the Bank was present as special guest. Presided over by M. Fariduddin Ahmad, Managing Director of the Bank different Sessions were addressed among others by Mohd. Shamsul Haque, Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Md. Habibur Rahman and Md. Setaur Rahman, Deputy Managing Directors and top Executives of the Bank. Executives of different Divisions and Departments of the Head office, Zonal Heads and selected Branch Managers of the Bank were present in the meeting.

Prof. Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher in his speech as Chief Guest called upon all levels of officials to develop skill and quality of customer service. He said, we have to uplift IBBL to international standard bank. He stressed upon use of update knowledge of modern science and technology in banking activities.

He urged the Branch incumbents to explore new investment sectors and invest there to survive in the age of globalization. At the same time he called upon all to conduct banking activities with more efficiency to face the global recession.

|
Stressing upon Shariah compliance in all types of investment, he called upon the incumbents to ensure proper Shari‘ah Compliance. He urged all to reach the services of IBBL to the doorsteps of the people of the country by conducting banking activities with determination and unity.

He said, IBBL is today the Bank of the people of this country, Bank of Islam. 15 crore people of this country think this Bank as their own Bank, My Bank. We have to reflect their hope and take this Bank to more firm stage from top position by increasing the per capita contribution.

M. Fariduddin Ahmad in his presidential speech said, we have to obtain such professional skill through highest sacrifice and labor that banking activities can be conducted in any situation in future. He urged the branch incumbents to conduct banking activities keeping pace with the stream of world economy.

|
He said, IBBL is today a reality. Islami banking activities have been started in many countries of the world. Those who have not yet started Islami banking, have started thinking of Islami banking by arranging meeting and seminars. We have to take the leadership in local and regional spheres of this movement by creating more skilled manpower.
