A Science Fair and Prize Giving Ceremony of Islami Bank International School & College was held on 9 August 2002, Friday at the institute premises at 147, Green Road, Dhaka. Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Minister for Science and Information and Communication Technology was present in the function as the Chief Guest and Mr. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, MP was the Special Guest. Presided over by Mr. Shah Abdul Hannan, Chairman, Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited the function was addressed among others by Engineer Eskander Ali Khan, Director of the Bank & Chairman, Academic Council of the institution, Mr. Abdur Raquib, Executive President and Mrs. Fakiha Haq, Principal of the institution. Guests of the function visited different projects of the Science fair of Islami Bank International School & College a project of Islami Bank Foundation.

Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Minister for Science and Information and Communication Technology said, in his speech as the Chief Guest, that there would be no development without development of science. Science can carry out the modern economical reformation. He said, it is immense need to develop science curriculum in education.

He praised the Science fair of Islami Bank Internatioanl School & College. He mentioned the social program of Islami Bank Foundation side by side financial operations of the Bank and said that it would be possible to change the condition of the country through development of such entrepreneurship mentality. Praising the standard of the school and students he called upon to establish such institutions in every nock and corner of Bangladesh.

Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan said that Islam teaches about character. We should take care of our children and boys for their mental development. They should have developed as a good citizen. He emphasised on the education based on morality. He committed to donate two computers for the institute.

Mr. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain MP said in his speech, as the Special Guest, that Islami Bank is trying to utilise the intellect of the meritorious students, the future citizen of the nation. He mentioned the Scholarship Program of Islami Bank Foundation for poor and meritorious students.

Other speakers stressed on different social development projects of Islami Bank Foundation and welfare oriented investment & deposit schemes of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited. They said, the schemes of Islami Bank may be helpful to the fate of develop the distressed, helpless and poor people of the country.
